Netflix Games Has Reached New Milestones Since Its Initial Release

In 2021 the mobile gaming industry was booming and everyone wanted a piece of the pie. And streaming giant Netflix didn’t hesitate to claim a piece for itself releasing multiple mobile game titles. Some are based on popular shows from the platform.

In November of 2021, Netflix made its foray into the Mobile Game industry and it looks like they are set to reap the benefits. According to recent information from AppFigures, Netflix has generated a staggering number of downloads, the exact figure currently being 5 million downloads.

Earlier in 2021 Netflix had made the 12 new games available on both the App Store and Google Play respectively. While there was a significant surge in the number of downloads when the games were first released, they have gone back to normal levels with an increase in installations over the weekend than during weekdays.

Unsurprising, the stranger things Game is still the most downloaded of these games, charting with 2 million downloads worldwide and it still maintains this position. Following closely in the category of most downloaded Netflix games are the following: Asphalt Xtreme, Teeter (Up), and Bowling Ballers.

However, the other games such as Kristen Street, Dominoes Cafe, Wonderputt forever, Card Blast!, and Arcanium have not gotten as much attention or downloads and the reason for this is probably due to some of the games being released late.

As we observe these developments, many still wonder if Netflix can make games a new source of income.

Do you think Netflix will dominate the gaming industry the way they’ve done with streaming? Have you downloaded and played any of the Netflix games? Please share your thoughts in the comment section below.
