Microsoft and Asobo have recently unveiled new details about the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS2024) during the FlightSimExpo event in Houston, Texas. Microsoft Flight Simulator's head, Jorg Neumann, acknowledged the curiosity surrounding MSFS2024 after the "paper thin" announcement trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase. This improvement aims to reduce installation size and loading times and maintain low minimum system requirements. Additionally, MSFS2024 will introduce a new physics and aerodynamics engine that includes tissue, rope, and other soft body physics, enabling more realistic simulation experiences and offering greater control for community creators who develop aircraft models for the game.

Besides the new activities and physics engine, MSFS2024 is designed to be backward compatible, ensuring that previously created community content remains functional regardless of whether it is upgraded to the new system.
