Apple Unveils New Browser, Updates, and Several Bug Fixes
13 Feb 2022
Apple has rolled out a new browser, as well as an update to its operating system to help improve performance and fix different issues that have cropped up. Apple has also unveiled a new Safari Technology Preview, which is a developer-focused web browser that lets you have access to upcoming projects for iOS and macOS. The new version of this browser can now be installed on the macOS Big Sur as well as the macOS Monterey, and it comes with some improvements. Also, if you have downloaded the browser previously, you can easily make an update to your current version using the software update feature.
Bug fixes, as well as speed improvements for CSS, Web Inspector, HTML, Web Animations, Accessibility, SVG, Web API, Javascript, Dialog Element, WebAssembly, Media, WebAuthn, Privacy, Web Extensions, Scrolling, and more, are expected to be included in the recently unveiled Safari Technology Preview as per the information divulged by MacRumors.
In addition to the release of the new browser, Apple's most recent iOS version also addressed several bugs. In the previous update, it was discovered that there was a bug that may have allowed the recording of various exchanges between Apple customers and Siri, even when the users did not approve of it. The bug was first detected in iOS 15 which toggles the settings tagged "Improve Siri and Dictation" to ‘enable’. This option allows Apple to capture audio, store, and even review all conversations you may have had with Siri. After Apple discovered the issue, they released iOS 15.2 which disables the option to record interactions with Siri.
